ASIS International has a long history in Hong Kong. In 1984, ASIS wanted to establish a chapter in Hong Kong and sought assistance from local security professionals. The key local contact was Dan Grove, who formed the Chapter in 1985 and chaired it during its first two years of infancy. The original membership was 12, which is the minimum required for forming a chapter Chapter membership soon swelled and by 2011, it stood at 180. Members represent a large cross-section of the senior and professional ranks of the local security industry and its specialized domains. Our practioners include corporate security executives, consultants, service providers, manufacturers, physical security specialists, risk managers, forensic experts, academics and senior law enforcement officers. The Chapter provides a unique forum for identifying industry trends, sharing best practices, advancing security education, promoting professionalism and for developing business and career opportunities. The membership continues to grow every year and we are now attracting affiliate members from other parts of Asia.
